Cleanup day at the
field
On Saturday, December 17,
2011 a group of volunteers
set out to clean the field.
They removed all the
trash/debris from inside and
around the containers. The
volunteers cleaned the main
shelter, fixed the pavers
border under the canopies,
dug a pipe trench for
bringing water to the main
shelter, spread fertilizer
and ant killer on the
runways...

2011 AeroFest - Annual
Gathering of Giant-Scale
Airplanes
This was the
best AeroFest in record. We
had 30 pilots, each with at
least two airplanes. Several
of our members said present
and actually flew their
planes. The public
attendance was beyond our
expectations, all food and
drinks were sold by 2:00 PM.

AMPS Junior member
rescues stray dog from AMPS
Field
Alexis Diaz,
a Junior AMPS member and
daughter of Dr Jerry Diaz
(Veterinary), has rescued
the dog that many of you saw
at the field for a couple of
weeks. Jerry tells us that
Alexis would not allow the
dog to be picked up by
Animal Services and
convinced him to pick it up
and take it to Briarwood
Animal Hospital (Jerry's
clinic).
The dog is
healthy and will be
available for adoption
in about 4-6 weeks

A reminder from the
Board of Directors
Guest fliers must be
pre-registered in order to
fly a our field. If you want
to bring a guest pilot to
the field, you must contact
one of the board members
(Bob, Butch, Chris or Vicar)
and make sure that your
guest is registered. Failure
to do so will result in a
field rules violation and
could jeopardize your
membership. As always, your
guest MUST be AMA members
and you MUST be present
while they are flying.

New member refuses to
follow rules.
One of our newest members,
Mr. Al E. Gator, refused to
follow the rules and other
members politely asked him
to leave the field. When he
turned violent, he was
escorted out. If you see him
at the field, please stay
away and notify the
authorities..

Special
message from the President:
There will be no flying of
model aircraft while the
runways are being mowed.
When you see the mower on
the runway, all flying is to
stop. The person doing the
mowing should not have to
ask any pilot to stop flying
in order to mow. The mowing
personnel have been
instructed to fill out
grievance forms against any
person who does not
cooperate. I will not have
members who have volunteered
their time to help maintain
our facilities getting hurt
because of the stupidity of
another member. |
