2011 Anniversary Picnic
Another anniversary picnic celebration comes to an end. Attendance was excellent, food was good (a few hitches but tasty). Flying, good weather and friendship were plentiful.

Thank you to all that came, those that brought appetizers and deserts, all those that stuck their hands to help. THANK YOU!

2011 New permanent grill installed at field
On the weekend of June 4, 2011 the grill arrived and it was installed. Along with the grill we purchased a couple of picnic tables which were placed under the main shelter. The grill is intended to be on a "bring your own stuff" format. You want to use it, you are responsible for the charcoal, food, cooking utensils and cleaning after you are done.

Fire at AMPS Silver Field
On December 24, 2010, a fire consumed most of the grass on the runways. Apparently the fire was started by an FPL crew working on the North side of the field by 168 Street. A strong wind quickly moved the fire in our direction. Three brave members, Jose "Red Baron" Cordero, Pablo Moscoso and Abraham Marquez, stayed behind and contained the fire to prevent damage to the pump house and covered areas. The firefighters were awarded with a certificate of appreciation and a club embroidered shirt.
