1st Students At The Field

Angel Toledo, an AMPS member and teacher at the Greater Miami Adventist Academy, came up with the idea of bringing some of his science students to the field for a hands on exercise in aviation. On Sunday, April 9th, 2006 we arranged for the kids to visit us and a group of instructors volunteered to give them lessons. We obtained AMA memberships for them and awarded them with AMPS Junior Memberships. The club provided lunch and instruction. Each student had an opportunity to fly several times and to use a flight simulator that was set up at the field. The students and those that volunteered to instruct and feed the kids all had a great time.

The AMPS would like to extend a similar invitation to any other school that would like to arrange a field trip. Please contact Tom Caldwell or Vicar Hernandez for further details.
